Types of French antiques available in the Lantiques warehouse

The wide variety of antiques in stock includes painted furniture to suit country-style interior design and antique furniture in natural wood finishes – ash, elm and oak – to complement classic or modern interior decor. In addition to French provincial furniture there are also Dutch and Swedish antiques, such as the charming Swedish Mora clocks which can be a delightful talking point in the home.

Antique mirrors work well with larger antiques, such as console tables and French commodes. Smaller Decorative antiques are important for creating an overall look and setting off key pieces of furniture. Continental clocks, including Swedish Mora clocks with their curvaceous shape, provide a useful function as well as being attractive decorative items in their own right. Standard lamps are an elegant way to light a dark corner, while an antique chandelier adds an elegant focal point hung above a French dining table. Pictures and other wall art add personality to otherwise bland walls. In the garden stylish outdoor dining spaces can be combined with a French charcuterie table with stylish chairs. Create a charming little hideaway in a secluded corner with a French bistro table and coordinating chairs. Stone ornaments add interest to a patio or can form the central feature of a lawn or formal garden. Welcome visitors to your home with a pair of classic caisse de Versaille planters either side of your front door.

There has been a market for French antique furniture for several years, however Swedish and Dutch antique furniture, is also becoming increasingly popular. Swedish and Dutch antiques coordinate well with French items as can be observed in the warehouse. However, we are able to source different types of antiques, including traditional English furniture, even if we have nothing similar currently available. If you are looking to furnish a whole room or looking for one or two coordinating pieces a visit to the warehouse would be beneficial. The juxtaposition of a range of antiques often provides inspiration and shows how different decorative styles can work together to create an individual look. In conjunction with an array of continental antiques lantiques of Petworth also stocks modern decorative pieces including repurposed objects and wall art. This means that we can offer our clients the opportunity to purchase a variety items to suit any style of property and all tastes.
